THE FENNES HISTORY
The English Country House first emerged as a building style during the reign of Henry Tudor. It had its hey day in the 18th Century during the reign of King George I when the landed aristocracy gave their homes a classical style makeover, introducing columns, porticos, landscaped gardens and huge sash windows for light and airy rooms. Fennes is a typical example of a quintessentially English Country house and both Georgian and Tudor features.
