Civil ceremonies in Essex

Your fairytale wedding might involve walking down the aisle on a warm summer’s day, surrounded by emerald lawns & gorgeous scenery as a gentle breeze wisps through your hair. Or, maybe an intimate ceremony in a cosier room of a Manor house surrounded by your closest family and friends as snow covers the ground appeals more to you.
Either way, our exclusive-use wedding venue can accommodate from 35 up to 350 guests for a civil ceremony in an indoor or outdoor setting.
If you’d like to hold your ceremony indoors, then you’ll have the choice of our Drawing Room, Banqueting Hall or Pavilion. The capacities for these rooms can be found below:
Drawing room – Up to 35 guests
Banqueting Hall – Up to 250 guests
Pavilion – Up to 350 guests
If you’d rather hold your wedding ceremony outside (which is extremely popular at Fennes in the summer months) we’re able to provide a fully licensed gazebo inside our beautifully landscaped grounds.
After the ceremony and reception drinks, treat your guests to a traditional three-course wedding breakfast, chosen from an extensive range of mouth-watering dishes lovingly prepared by our experienced chefs. Accompany your meal with a selection of fine wines and champagnes, or add personalised cocktails to put your unique touch on the occasion.
A wide range of exclusive finishing touches are available to book through your dedicated Wedding and Events Manager, from stunning decorative chair covers to helicopter landings for an entrance to remember. The historic house and extensive grounds provide photo opportunities for newlyweds, saving memories to be cherished for years to come.
When your day has come to its end, stay in your very own luxurious Honeymoon Cottage, your own private haven, with four poster bed and copper bath. Your friends and family can relax and stay with us in one of our 13 beautiful guest rooms.
A tasty breakfast is served the following morning, allowing you to relive your special memories, with your closest family and friends.
